WINTER JAM 2016
Friday, December 30, 2016 at 3:00PM For the fifth year, Sonoma Raceway has held their two-day bash known as Winter Jam. Every year the event has had a sold-out crowd. With mulitple courses, the event is loved by drivers and spectators.
Every year, Sonoma Raceway invites professional drifters to attend the event. This year had the highest turnout with Matt Coffman, Matt Field, Forrest Wang, Odi Bakchis, Alex Heilbrun, Dan Savage, and Andy Hately travelling across the country to attend this epic event.
It is humbling to see the pros help out us when we run into trouble. Law had a startup issue that was quickly resolved by Forrest Wang.
Law spent most the practicing on the Turn 7 Formula Drift course. It is a challenging course that requires precision and dedication.
Lack of speed results in unsmooth driving through the first inner clip. Lack of precision in the entry leads to wild spinouts. But time and practice meant Law was able to adapt to the course quickly.
Unfortunately, we were not able to qualify. However, the team learned a lot and we hope to continue to progess. Plus extra time allowed us to ease up and party drift with everyone!
