SUMMER JAM 2012
Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 10:26PM Infineon Raceway threw another awesome Summer Jam! This year brought the revised Team Tandem battles on Saturday and the existing Competition on Sunday.
The battles on Saturday were spectacular. Teams were brought together and MINT Drift came out on top!
The battles were not without damage. Chris had to end the weekend with a bent strut and a cracked spindle. Nothing could be done while on track, so he had to bring the beastly-wide Corolla home.
At the end of the day, the team went off for individual runs for qualifying. This resulted in all of MINT qualifying! That put us in tough competition for Sunday's individual battles.
The battles were tough and Alex and Sherry were knocked out in Top 32.
Jose limped into the Top 32 Battles with some damage left during the tandem practice.
This did not stop Jose from putting down a tight battle with Crick Fillipi from our friends Team Burns the Most.
Jose was knocked out in Top 16 when his intercooler piping came loose and tore a coupler. The hit from qualifying turned out to damage more than just the fender, but pushed the intercool piping into the way of the wheel.
Jose's undigified roll of shame back to the pits. It had been a long weekend for the team and this last blow was a good time for the team to pack up.
There is a lot of damage that the team has to repair before our next event. SEE YOU ALL AT WORD UP!
