Stockton 99 Drift: FINAL ROUND
Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 8:28PM We join Jose again at the Stockton 99 Drift series. He returns this weekend as points leader in the series and the hope to secure his first series victory.
He was joined by fellow MINT member Chris with his Corolla. His car had taken some damage at the last Limitless Sonoma Drift event. No hood, no fenders, no bumpers, no oil cooler and still the car looks beastly!
Free practice and qualifying were no challege for our seasoned drifters and Jose qualified in second and Chris, arriving late, came in ninth with no practice runs.
Coming down to the Top 8 in the tandem competition, Chris was paired up with Josh in his Mustang 5.0 powered S14. Needless to say this would be a huge challenge.
Chris kept his cool but the power difference was too great. In the second run at the very last moment, Josh pulled an extremely brave pass and won the round.
Jose was put under some serious pressure in the Top 4 battle and kept his cool despite knocking out one of the pumpkin clipping points completely. After a fierce battle with Tyler in his SR20DET powered S14 and Josh with the 5.0 Mustang powered S14, Jose came out in fourth.
Despite coming so low this round, Jose still had enough overal points to be the WINNER of STOCKTON 99 DRIFT! All of MINT is very proud of him for bringing home another trophy.
