BUILD LOG: LS1 S13 PART 1

We don't want to hear from the internet about how turbos are better. Drive, drift, have fun. Just let people enjoy what they enjoy.

In the early days of MINT, Eric and Mike shared an S13. It was supposed to be the genesis of drifting. Mistakes would be made, crashes were going to happen, the chassis was going to get wasted. By the end of that car, the K24E began to burn oil and would give the typical valve tick noise of being under oiled. The shared car was split and Eric went off to find himself a suitable chassis and engine combination. Through friends and contacts a half complete rolling shell was found with an included R32 front end.

The S13 was straight and had engine bay modifications making it ready for a V8 swap. The universe aligned and a donor LS1 from a 2001 Pontiac Firebird. The car was absolutely disgusting, but all that mattered was the 5.7 liters of freedom in the front end.

The engine swap kit from Sikky made installation a breeze. The transmission was sourced from a friend and it was quickly sent to be rebuilt and refreshed. The build was coming together quickly.

Parts came from all over in a culmination of JDM and USDM styles. A rare site nowadays, but that clear 90 degree is from Killer Glass. An old name from when we were into Scion's.

DMAX coilovers, DriftSpeed knuckles, extended lowers. Old school formula.

After a few years of hoarding parts and waiting the car came together and ready to test. It was a car with some hand-me-downs, but the car has a lot of great potential.
