2012 MINT RECAP
Sadly, 2012 is coming to an end. We would like to take this opportunity to look back on all of the accomplishments we have done this year!
The year started off with the entire team coming together at Thunderhill Raceway which is one of our favorite tracks. Thunderhill has been very supportive of the Northern California scene. GDS was a great way for the team to come out of winter hibernation and to jump-start the 2012 year! It was great to have almost all of the team together to enjoy the awesome track!
A great addition to our local drift scene was the revamp of the Sonoma Drift series. As the season started, we were invited to come out and kick off the season!
During the season, Sonoma Drift ran almost every Wednesday. It was a great way for drivers to get some seat time. We attended quite a few Wednesday night drift events and every event was awesome!
As the summer crept up, we started the process of getting the team cars all painted the same color. This was a great opportunity for us to get a fresh new look and bring unity to the team. We want to thank Car N Bike Moto for the help and great work!
Car N Bike Moto has done so much for us this year. The team color brought unity to the team and set us apart from a lot of the NorCal drift cars. We had the chance to show off the new paint work at the SSAUTOPower track day.
As summer came around, we had a late start to the Formula D Pro-Am series. Round 1 was a tough battle for our cars. Jose had barely got his turbo sorted out and he did not get to perform a shakedown of his car.
Round 2 was a huge moral boost for the team. Jose pulled his car together and he performed superbly! Jose took home a win after battling against NorCal's best drivers!
Pro-Am Round 3 marked a venue change. We moved to Stockton 99 Raceway and that brought new challenges. Although we were veterans of this track, we had trouble this round. Sherry had engine and differential problems and Jose was fighting engine troubles.
Summer Jam at Infineon Raceway returned for the second time! Our cars took a lot of damage over the two-day event, but at least we took home a win at the team tandem competition.
Also, 2012 marked the return of the Fatlace Word-Up drift event. It's great to see a classic event held by great people return. Word-Up was also the first event since the beginning of the year that our whole team came to drift together.
Another event that we enjoy is the All Star Bash hosted by JustDrift at Willow Springs International Raceway. ASB was held on the smaller Streets of Willows and Horsethief Mile of WSIR. The two day event was non-stop drifting mayhem.
Capping off the year was the Sonoma Drift Winter Jam. This was the perfect way to end the year. It was great to see how the skills acquired during the year culminated in this event. E-brake initiations were better and it was a real test of wet track driving because it rained on and off throughout the day.
We met a lot of great people this year and we would like to thank them. First is Car N Bike Moto and their awesome support of our team. With their help, we were able to bring unity to the team cars. Also Limitless Motorsports for any work we needed done. Many late nights and early mornings at the shop were had to get everything ready!
We also want to thank Lino and all the organizers at Sonoma Drift. Bringing such a regular schedule of events to NorCal really brings out some great drivers. We hear there are new and interesting things in the works for next year and everyone is excited about 2013. We would also like to thank Don at Bob's Donuts for the annual Bob's Donuts Trackday, JustDrift for All Star Bash, and TD Pro-Am for the series.
And lastly, thank you to double_ZERO Photography, HNC Photography, and carsxhype for their support of the team.
2012 was a huge year for us. Hopefully 2013 will be even better!
