We're back for another week of drifting. This time we are at Sonoma Raceway for Summer Jam. This two-day bash is held at Turn 2-5 of the wonderful raceway.
First, we have to make a couple repairs. Thunderhill West was a blast, but we took home a little damage. There were also a few small tech things we had to repair before competing.
The next day we were ready to bash.
Through practice, Sherry and Alex were doing well. Sherry was able to qualify seventh putting her up against Donovan Brockway.
The tandem battle went for a one-more-time. Both drivers made minor mistakes, but Sherry couldn't shake Donovan. Even with the power disadvantage, Donovan was able to stay close to Sherry throughout the runs.
Of course everyone was watching for Faruk. He put down a 99 point run, the highest ever seen by the Sonoma Drift series. However, engine gremlins put him out of the competition.
Crick took first place and the $1000 prize. We'll be back at Sonoma Raceway soon for more drifting! More photos here.
