As summer rolls around the corner, and the weather gets nicer it only means one thing. We just want to go out and drift! This past Memorial Day weekend we returned to the Sonoma Drift Competition at Infineon Raceway.
Jose recently pulled his car out of hiding and went to the Fresno Tanso Drift event. Unfortunately, he took some more body damage at the event. Some new lights and a visit to Car N Bike Moto will return Jose's car to proper form. Of course Lawrence couldn't help but sign the damage that he inflicted on Jose's car.
Round 3 introduced a new racing line. This new layout aimed to make sure the course remained different, and to level out the field for lower powered cars.
The new line meant Sherry could use all of the angle that her custom front knuckles could provide. It's always awesome to see a car pull great drifts with lots of angle.
This round was the first time that Jose had driven the course since last year's Summer Jam when MINT took home best team tandem.
Unfortunately, both drivers had motor problems. Sherry's motor was spitting oil due to high crank case pressure and the motor would not cooperate all day. Jose had boost leaks from his exhaust manifold and he couldn't lay down the power when he wanted. Hopefully some wrench time will give new life to the motors.
Despite the breakdowns we had a great time! Be sure to watch the video in the previous post to see some of our non drifting shenanigans. It's always fun when friends and drifting come together.
